01 If you still have the app
Deleting from inside Ally is immediate and needs nothing from us. Open the app and go to:
You → the ⋮ button, top right → Purchases, data and deletion → Delete account
Ally will ask you to confirm. After that your account is scheduled for deletion and you are signed out.
02 If you no longer have the app
You do not need to reinstall it. Message us using the chat button at the bottom of this page and tell us you would like your account deleted.
Because a deletion cannot be undone once the grace period passes, we confirm that the request is really coming from the account holder before we act on it. We will ask you to confirm from the email address the account was created with, and we will only proceed once you have. This is the identity check that the GDPR both permits and expects of us — acting on an unverified request would put your account at the mercy of anyone who knew your address.
We do not publish an email address on this page, because a published address is harvested and spammed within days. Ask us in the chat and we will give you the one to use.
We answer erasure requests within one month, and usually far sooner.
03 What is deleted
Everything tied to your account:
- Your birth details, and the chart calculated from them
- Every daily message, and any follow-up questions and answers
- Any notes you wrote, and any feedback you gave
- Every reading you bought, including any Compatibility reading — and the birth details you entered for the other person
Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, not by us. Deleting your Ally account does not cancel a subscription and does not issue a refund — those are managed in your App Store or Google Play account, and are worth doing first if a subscription is still running.
04 How long it takes
Deletion begins with a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days you can change your mind — sign in again and the account comes back exactly as it was.
After 30 days everything is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 90 days, backups included. The full detail is in section 05 of the Privacy Policy.
System logs are kept for a year and contain nothing that identifies you.
